Player-Care accepts payment for all purchases using either Discover®, VISA®, American Express®, or Mastercard® credit cards. However, I handle every single transaction manually. Nothing is "automated". If you elect to pay for your order using a credit card, there are two things you need to know. First, you will be charged the same price as those who pay by check or money order. Second, if you feel uncomfortable using the Secure Order Form, your credit card number, expiration date, and security code must be transmitted via the phone. Call John A Tuttle at 732-840-8787.
Once you've placed your order via any of the Order Forms, the order will be processed within 24 hours (Mon-Sat) and you will be sent an E-nvoice® with all of the particulars concerning the order, including the Delivery Confirmation or the USPS International Mail number. January 25, 2013. It has come to our attention that a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the banks and credit card companies is about to be settled. It has to do with the processing fees charged to the merchant when payment is accepted via credit card. To our knowledge, it only effects Visa and Mastercard at this time. What's important for you, the customer, to know is that the law might change regarding how the merchant deals with those fees. At present, it is against US law to pass those fees along to the customer directly. Most merchants simply increase the cost of their products to cover the fees. However, this is unfair to those who pay by cash or check because they are, in effect, paying a higher price for the same product. If the law changes, merchants (except in ten states) will be allowed to tack on a surcharge which does not exceed the amount they are charged by the credit card companies. At present, I am paying the credit card companies three fees per transaction. The fees are called the "Discount Rate", the "Transaction Fee" and the "Authorization Fee". The Discount Rate varies depending on the type of credit card. The minimum Discount Rate is 3.01% and the maximum is 3.95%. The Transaction Fee is a flat fee of $0.10 per transaction. The Authorization Fee is also a flat fee of $0.33 per transaction. So, for every dollar you spend with me, I pay the credit card company a minimum of $0.47 for the first dollar plus about $0.04 for each additional dollar. I have not yet decided what I will do about this situation, but chances are best that it won't change the way I conduct business. Like most merchants, the costs are already figured into the price of the products.
