Here are the cold, hard facts as of September 8, 2006. I just received a new price list from QRS, and the prices listed for all QRS rolls and accessory items are going to be at least 25% higher than they were a month ago! To be precise, Regular Rolls, which sold for $11.00 will be selling for $14.00. Extended Rolls, which are now selling for $17.00, will be selling for $21.00. Regardless of the when the prices increase, I will still be selling the rolls at a 15% discount (off the list price).
According to one of my sources at QRS, the prices were suppose to go into effect on September 1, 2006. However, as of 2:30 PM (EST) today, the prices have not gone up. As I have mentioned in a previous alert about the price increases, they were initially suppose to take effect in the early part of January 2006. Sources close to the top at QRS informed me that the delay has centered around the production of the new music roll catalog, which was slated to come out in late 2007. As reported in my "What's New" web page earlier this year, getting the catalog finalized has been frought with problems concerning which rolls will no longer be available. Over the past two years, QRS has culled some 200+ rolls from their library of available titles, and the existence of this new price list tells me that things could change at any moment.
What is a bit annoying about this new price list is the comment at the bottom of the page. It simply and clearly says, "All Prices Subject To Change Without Notice". I mention this because I will not get left 'holding the bag' (as it happened once before) if an order is placed over the weekend, and the new prices go into effect on the following Monday. Last time, I ended up having to pay QRS the new price and honor the old price to my customers. Be assurred that I am doing everything humanly possible to stay ahead of this change. My main source of reliable information at QRS told me this afternoon that they will attempt to find out exactly when the prices will increase later today, and get back to me via email as soon as they have an answer.
So, as much as I hate to say this, "You've Been Warned!" If you have any intention of buying QRS music rolls or QRS accessory items, I recommend ordering them soon. QRS is under no obligation to give me an advance warning.
