As far as I know, I am one of the very few competent technicians who isn't afraid of players and am perfectly comfortable with tuning, removing the player stack for action repair and misc. string repair as well as the occasional tubing or bellows repair and tracker bar cleaning. When it is apparent that the player action needs rebuilding, as often is the case, I refer folks to Wendell Oliver of the Charlotte Piano Company.
