Registered Piano Technician member of the Piano Technicians Guild. Serving Charlotte and surrounding communities since 1987. Services include: Piano tuning, action repair, action regulation, voicing, string repair, appraisals, climate control, etc...
As far as I know, I am one of the very few competent technicians who isn't afraid of players and am perfectly comfortable with tuning, removing the player stack for action repair and misc. string repair as well as the occasional tubing or bellows repair and tracker bar cleaning. When it is apparent that the player action needs rebuilding, as often is the case, I refer folks to Wendell Oliver of the Charlotte Piano Company.

I am a 40 year veteran of piano service and came across you site recently. I would like to possibly list as a player technician as I have reopened my rebuilding facility after a 7 year shutdown due to health reasons but am back in full swing. I trained on players in the 70's and have not made it a mainstay of my piano service but have always worked on them. I am presently in the process of restoring a Seeburg E 1926 nickelodeon and will be posting it's progress on my website. I am more interested in full restorations but will do some road service. Also - I am only basically familiar with electronic systems.

I've been in the trade since 1972. I worked for Mauldin Pianos(retired), Inzer Pianos (now operated by Greg Seagraves), McCool Pianos (retired), Stone Mtn. Music Museum (Tommy Protsman, deceased and now closed) I've owned my own shop since 1988 in Decatur GA, (metro Atlanta). Through the middle 90's I specialized in player restoration, although since then I do mostly straight piano restoration. Except for cabinet refinishing, all work is done by me, I'm known for excellent historically correct restoration and rebuilding. I don't advertise my player work but do a bit for old contacts, as you know its very time consuming and rather messy at times. I've done many AMPICO As & Bs, Duo Arts, Weltes, many pumpers of all types, and many coin ops (no organ). I don't consider my shop a player shop but am happy to be listed as a resource. I think my old friend Greg Seagraves and I are the only old shop trained player guys left in metro Atlanta. I appreciate your interest and applaud you (Player-Care) and the player digest (MMDigest) for your work.

Now Playing: Midi File called Quigley , which was first conceived on June 27, 1997. These tracks are presented in their unedited form exactly as I recorded them. Quigley was written especially For Women. It's sensitive yet powerful, playful but structured, and always hopeful.
