A customer in England wanted to buy two music rolls that weighed just less than four (4) pounds once they were packed in a box. At that point, I asked him to tell me how he would like them shipped. Below are the important parts of the emails we exchanged thereafter. To cut to the chase (or get to the heart of the matter).. Click Here!

could you simply pack them up & tell me the postage costs,
by air mail - SMALL PACKET rate [is it some kind of media rate cheaper?]
I will then get a friend in MBSI in USA to send you the payment for
them by personal check & you can post them to me when it clears.
Many Thanks, Customer

I am not quite sure what I am looking at but can I have the service below ?
Priority Mail International - Flat-rate Envelope (Large)
4 - 6 Days
$9.50
Many Thanks, Customer

Hi Customer,
That would be nice, but the envelope measures 9-1/2" x 12-1/2" and
it's for mail type materials, e.g., letters, pamphlets, etc.
Here are your choices, which all involve a box.
Global Express Mail (EMS) 3 - 5 Days $37.70
Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $29.50
Economy (Surface) Parcel Post 4 - 6 Weeks $24.25
(Rate for pieces 5 pounds or less)
Once you get over the five (5) pound minimum, the cost/pound
starts decreasing. So, a 6-pound parcel will cost $26.35, or
$4.39/lb. and a 10-pound parcel will cost $34.50, or $3.45/pound.
This non-linear decrease continues until you reach the maximum
deliverable weight of 66 pounds....
See Table 9b: Economy (Surface) Parcel Post
(BTW, orders sent via this service can be Insured, but they cannot
be tracked or traced.)

The only way to get a lower rate is to send at least 11 pounds
of goods via a little service known as USPS "M Bag". Here is
a link to the Rate Chart, Table 7b: Economy (Surface) M-Bag
http://pe.usps.gov/text/pub51/51tblb_003.html#vnameref_1
As you can see, it's very inexpensive. The drawbacks are: The
parcel cannot be insured; It cannot be tracked or traced; It's the
slowest and least expensive service offered by USPS.
I have used the M-Bag numerous times and every order has
eventually arrived in good condition. The only trick to insuring
safe arrival is excellent packing because the bag get tossed
around like a duffle bag and it will get thrown into large piles
of similar bags aboard the ship that carries them.
Bottomline, if you're not in a hurry but you want to save a
bundle on shipping, order enough rolls to reach the 11-pound
minimum weight, and have me ship them in an M-Bag. Your
shipping cost will go down to $0.95/pound !!
FYI, I charge $0.50/roll to handle the packing involved in using
this service. Each roll box is double wrapped in bubble wrap and
the shipping box is put into a slightly bigger shipping box or the
order is packed in an extra-thick shipping carton.
Let me know what you decide to do....
